Everyone Seems To Be Talking About The HCG Diet Program

By Riley T. Simonis

The HCG diet is a low-calorie diet helped by supplemental drops. The body begins to burn stored fat when it uses up the day's calorie intake; a process which occurs faster with a low-calorie diet. Low calorie diets alone force the body to burn more fat when calories run out, but the addition of the special drops helps to maintain muscle mass during this process. Negative side effects, such as fatigue or irritability, which commonly accompany low-calorie diets can be avoided with the aid of HCG drops. While on the HCG diet, the body restructures the way it usually uses stored fat and regular calorie intake. The implication phase, the training of the metabolism and the maintenance phase are the three stages used in the special diet plan.

In the beginning of the special diet, the first two days require of an increased calorie intake along with initiation of HCG drops. The first stage of the diet helps to re-set the body's natural way of handling calorie intake and burning fat, which will be utilized in the low-calorie portion of the diet. The period of low-calorie intake in the diet is aided by the initial high-calorie phase as it decreases excess hunger throughout the diet process. The special diet's second portion, consisting of low-calorie intake, forces the body to burn excess fat when the daily calories are used up as a fuel source.

The final phase of the diet, known as the maintenance stage, begins when the drops have successfully altered the body's metabolism. When the maintenance phase of the special diet begins, drops are no longer necessary as calorie intake returns to normal.

Calorie intake, however, should be slowly raised as to not disrupt the metabolism and the body's new process of burning fat. Weight must be monitored closely during this time to ensure that the results of the diet are maintained and the reintroduction of normal calorie intake is not inhibiting the metabolism's changed procedure.

Since the diet plan requires low calorie intake, it is suggested that the physical activity portion of the diet consist only of light exercise. As the body is already burning stored fat because of the lower-calorie intake, heavy exercise might cause fatigue and starvation There are no known side effects of the plan and the hormones in the drops will not create any interference with menstrual cycles. Higher calorie intakes needed for nourishment during pregnancy cause the the plan to produce little to no results if used by pregnant women.
